01 / How it started
How it started
As a rising freshman I attended NAIMUN, a Model UN conference. Assistant Secretary of State Michelle J. Sison spoke about tackling the local issues that matter most to you, because few other people will do it for you. That talk got my wheels turning.
CompetifyHub began in 2024 as a Discord study group. A few students shared problem sets and notes. The group grew fast, and the gap it filled became obvious. Strong competition training exists, but most of it costs money.
We registered as a nonprofit and rebuilt the group into a publishing operation. Everything stays free. Guides, problem breakdowns, and event material go out to anyone who wants them.
Content comes from people who competed. IMO competitors, MATHCOUNTS nationals alumni, and AIME qualifiers write and review the material. That keeps the advice specific instead of generic.
Public reporting describes participants in more than 60 countries, and more than 1,600 participants during an earlier growth stage.

What we run
Four lines of work, all free to students.
Competition guides
Written walkthroughs for math, science, and research competitions. Each one explains what judges reward and how to prepare for it.
Study community
The original Discord group still runs. Students trade problems, review each other's work, and get answers from people who competed at a high level.
Partner programming
Joint events and shared material with the International Math Bowl, Aspire STEM, Bio-Sim, and MathLLM extend the reach beyond our own audience.
Research mentorship
Guides on picking a research topic, running the scientific process at high school scale, and presenting results to a judging panel.
